Taking up Archery
There are two main forms of archery for you to consider when taking up the sport,
Target Archery: consists of shooting a number of arrows at a target at a set distance. This is the most common type of archery and is also the form of archery used in the Olympics.
Field Archery: Consists of a number of targets placed over course set out in the countryside, usually woodland. This form of archery relies more on the archers’ skill and judgment as the distances are usually unmarked. Field archery can also include animal targets as well as the traditional circular targets.
It is always a good idea to go along to your local archery club or organization and having a go on their equipment before you think about buying your own. They will give you a better idea on the type of bow that will suit you, judging from your height and strength.
